av98m SG Call me a slacker but I think one of the greatest tragedies of modern human life is the fact that we have to work such long hours to make ends meet, at the expense of our physical, emotional and mental health. I think working hours should be from 10am to 4pm, with a 2 hour lunch break in between, but thats just me. Essential services that need to be up 24/7 should have more people working shorter shifts.
Rhonda SG In the news yesterday - this poor nurse working in a nursing home found herself in court after serving a pt meds that he was allergic to, resulting in his death. The shocking thing was, she was the only Registered Nurse administering medication to ALL 180 patients!! It is soooo blardy unfair! You overwork and overstretch your one and only nurse licenced to serve medication, and then you blame her when a mistake occurs. In the first place, why is she made to work under conditions where mistakes are just WAITING to happen?! Whilst I feel sad that a life was lost, I totally empathise with the nurse.
